  6. EMT'd for the good cause. 1 dollar for each of Giovinco's good work. Let see if I have my maths correct. It's for his goals, assists, successful penalty kicks, his game winning goals, his Voyageur's cup goal and 1 dollar extra for being super awesome. I hope my small donation helps... -Rudy

  12. The Kollin brothers wrote this used book I picked up a few weeks back. The Unincorporated Man. "The incredible has happened. A billionaire businessman from our time, frozen in secret in the early 21st century, is discovered in the far future and resurrected, given health and a vigorous younger body. He awakens into a civilization in which every individual is formed into a legal corporation at birth, and spends many years trying to attain control over their own life by getting a majority of his or her own shares. Life extension has made life very long indeed.Justin Cord is the only unincorporated man in the world, a true stranger in this strange land. Justin survived because he is tough and smart. He cannot accept only part ownership of himself, even if that places him in conflict with a civilization that extends outside the solar system to the Oort Cloud." Has a Heinlein flare to it. It was enjoyable enough that I went an bought the 3 follow-up volumes and consumed them at a fair clip. The story moves more into space opera in the subsequent novels... but I guess it's handy that I like space opera! Read the first. If it grabs you... just go and get the rest immediately. They are quick reads... by the time you decide you want to read the next it'll be too late. Binge read. If the Expanse is success on the telly... I can see people looking at this Unincorporated property to exploit for the small screen. It has a number of similar themes, and ideas.... which I won't hold against the Unincorporated books. I'm just now moving on to the latest Expanse novel, and doing so quickly after finishing this series has me double taking at a few choice words and ideas. All of which, I guess, can be natural assumptions of near future life, politics, etc... Either way... the Corey book is awesome so far. Can't wait for the series to start. Hope it lives up to the page. -R
