Is there any opponent that embodies the dregs of the MLS mid-season more than the Kansas City Wizards?

No disrespect to the great states of Missouri or Kansas, nor any to either Kansas City, but the Wizards are the definition of ‘meh’: A non-descript, unglamourous team in the middle of the continental United States, far removed from any other team in the league, without any real stars, sporting a terrible record and playing in a minor league baseball park.

Dwayne De Rosario was named today to the MLS All-Star Team’s First XI.

The All-Stars will take on Manchester United at Houston’s Reliant Stadium on July 28th. Toronto FC has a home CONCACAF Champions League qualifying match versus Honduran side Motagua July 27th. De Rosario will be playing in both. Does anyone not see anything wrong with this scenario?

Vancouver Whitecaps fans (and organization): Be careful what you wish for.

Last year, it seemed that everyone connected to the Whitecaps was whining high and low about the Montreal Impact “bending over” for Toronto in last year’s final Nutrilite Canadian Championship match.

Montreal was, as you all well know, already eliminated from Voyageurs Cup contention heading into that match, and decided to rest some regulars ahead of a crucial league game against those same Vancouver Whitecaps only two days later.
